I've been crafting a jewelry collection. While some pieces are ready the research continues. This time I took a completely different approach. In the beginning the all idea came from this specific quote:
"I think perfection is ugly. Somewhere in the things humans make, I want to see scars, failure, disorder, distortion." - Yohji Yamamoto
With Yamamoto's concept in mind the search has led me to Brutalism architecture. Pieces are geometric arranged, imperfect, raw material, unexpected forms. The challenge will be finding beauty in the process of deconstruction vs new construction. It feels good to break some rules to find some unexpected form take place. I want to create something for myself I don't see everyday. I wanted to find the feeling of "owning" the piece from the very first beginning. Will be a slow process but so very liberating.
Here are some pieces of the collection I named de|constructed.
